Access

Leave the [A5] motorway at the Châtillon–Saint-Vincent toll booth and continue for 400m (400m) along Strada Barat. Join the regional road SR10 and drive up through Località Soleil for 800m (1,200m), until you reach a junction with traffic lights. Carry on straight ahead, following the signs for the spa and passing through Località Panorama [distance to be confirmed], until you reach Viale Piemonte. Follow this road for 240m (2,140m) until you reach the roundabout: take the second exit onto Via Marconi and continue for 350m (2,490m). At the next roundabout, take the third exit onto Via Conti di Challant [distance to be confirmed] and turn right onto the regional road SR33. Continue for 900m until you reach the reserved car park on the left.

Car park

The car park 🅿️ at the Saint-Vincent Thermal Baths is free of charge, although it is formally reserved for guests of the spa. This is the starting point of the route.

0h00' 0.00km 0m 0m 4 5 6 From the car park, head to the entrance to the spa and continue for a few metres until you find the start of the mule track, which is marked by a signpost. Take the mule track and follow it briefly until you reach the junction with the regional road SR33, where a second signpost confirms the direction to follow.

0h03' 0.11km 17m 0m 4 5 Continue straight on, heading up the tarmac road that leads to the village of Boriolaz (660m). At the end of the climb, turn left and take a small path which soon leads back onto the regional road SR33. Turn left and follow the regional road for a short distance until you come to the start of the path on the right. Head up the path, taking a left-hand bend, and make your way through the houses of Biéton (692m), until you reach a drinking fountain 💧 and cross the regional road SR33 again.

0h10' 0.32km 49m 0m 5 Cross the regional road SR33 and head down a narrow road to the first houses in Crotache. Take a narrow path which runs flat alongside the village, leaves it and heads into the downy oak woodland (Quercus pubescens). Proceed north-west, with gentle ups and downs, ignoring the paths and tracks that cross the route, until you reach a mule track marked by a signpost.

0h20' 1.00 km (62 m ascent) (7 m descent) 1 5 Turn right and, after a short climb, reach the picturesque village of Clapéon, at the edge of which there is a signpost.

[0h25’T2] 1.16km 89m 7m 1 5 Turn left and follow a short stretch halfway up the hillside through the farmland until you reach Maison Neuve (705m) [0h30’T2] 1.30km 87m 16m.

The return journey follows the same route as the outward leg 0h15' 1.30km 16m 87m.
