Mario Bezzi Refuge

Introduction
The Rifugio Mario Bezzi is located at an altitude of 2,284 metres on the Alpe Vaudet, in the upper Valgrisenche, and is surrounded by a stunning natural setting. All around are green pastures, a small lake and, in the background, the imposing silhouettes of the glaciers of the Grande Sassière and Grande Traversière massifs. Its location, secluded and protected, makes it a reference point for hikers and mountaineers, but also for those seeking a quiet corner in the heart of the Graian Alps.
Description
The construction of the refuge began in 1925 and was completed in 1931. The building was dedicated to Mario Bezzi, a zoologist and university lecturer from Turin, an internationally renowned scholar who died in 1927. Over the course of time, the structure has been renovated and enlarged several times, in particular in 1995, in order to respond to the needs of an ever more attentive hospitality. Today the hut has about eighty beds distributed in rooms of various sizes, with a winter room that can accommodate six people. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, thanks to a cuisine that is attentive to Valle d'Aosta tradition and functional interior spaces, capable of welcoming both walkers and visitors on mountain bikes or accompanied by dogs.
