Access

The bivouac can be reached via the following access routes:

  • from Alpe Magnolta
.

Introduction

The Aprica bivouac is located at an altitude of 2,227 metres in the "Corna dei Cavalli" locality, a panoramic point on the western side of the ridge that connects Dosso Pasò and Cima Cadin, both located at 2,575 metres. Although it is called a "bivouac", access to the structure is limited: in fact, to enter, it is necessary to collect the keys from the Aprica CAI section (Corso Roma 178). However, the room used as a woodshed is always open, which can act as a shelter in the event of sudden bad weather.

Description

The bivouac can accommodate up to 15 people and is equipped with a kitchen, water (although the fountain outside may not be working), blankets, a stove and outdoor toilets. There is also a first aid kit and a small wooden toilet not far from the structure.

This is a perfect destination for those seeking a high altitude refuge with the security of a sheltered and well-equipped place. Even if it is closed, with the possibility of organising yourself by collecting the keys in advance, the Aprica Bivouac is an excellent starting point for hikes along the ridge that connects the nearby alpine peaks, while offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
