Access

Leaving the A5 motorway at the Saint-Pierre (Aosta West) exit, continue in the direction of Courmayeur. After passing Saint-Pierre you reach Villeneuve, where you meet the junction for Val di Rhêmes. Follow the Val di Rhêmes regional road, passing the municipalities of Introd, Rhêmes-Saint-Georges and Rhêmes-Notre-Dame: just after the village, leave your car in the covered car park.

Short but very pleasant route that runs through the first part of the Sort valley.

Description

From the car park, cross the stream and ascend along an inter-farm road, passing a large building. Continue in the direction of the clearly visible cross of the Cucco castle. Once below, leave the track to the right towards the Entrelor valley and take a small valley to the left. The track continues between the trees on the hillside until it climbs more steeply to the right. This leads to the upper slopes, which are less steep and have few trees. Leave the park ranger's house to the left and continue along wide slopes. In the background, the Sort pass is clearly visible and further to the right, the beautiful slopes leading to the Gran Gollien. Climb up a somewhat steeper valley to the right until you come out into a small basin and with a traverse to the right reach a col and then the peak.
