Test Plan, from Trovinasse
Introduction
Nice excursion at the entrance to the Aosta Valley. The Trovinasse basin, uninhabited in winter, offers a varied environment of houses, meadows, woods. Lovely view over the plain.
Description
Follow the road until you enter the Trovinasse basin. Leave the itinerary for Torretta on the right and climb up along clearings interrupted by stretches of woodland until you reach Trovinasse, pass near the church, continue on the level for a stretch, cross a small bridge and then climb up to the right between trees until you reach the road. Climb up through a dense birch wood and reach the Garitta alpine pasture.
Continue through the lovely little valley until you reach a wide plateau, cross it and then climb up the valley on the left to the Monbarone alpine pasture. Climb up a small stretch above the huts and then cross the flat area to the right to reach the Test pass. Along the wide ridge to reach the summit.
At the descent above the hut, altitude 1850m, cross halfway up the slope to climb up to a wide pass. Descend into the beautiful valley below to the entrance of a gully.
With plenty of snow descend the bottom of the gully and then cross to the left, otherwise keep high on the left and follow the summer path. You will then reach the Alpe di Buri from where, moving to the left and following the beautiful slopes covered by the Torretta itinerary, you will once again reach the road and the cars.
