Piz Grevasalvas
Access
From Milan to Lecco, Colico, Chiavenna; here turn right along the Val Bregaglia. After the customs post with Switzerland, you reach the Maloja Pass and continue for a few more kilometres towards St. Moritz, to Plan da Lej, characterised by a few small hotels and a comfortable esplanade at a natural bend in Lake Segl.
Description
At the side of the houses, a small road closed to traffic ascends into the beautiful forest: follow it to the characteristic hamlet of Grevasalvas. After crossing the village, climb up the steep ridge behind it to reach a first plateau. In a south-westerly direction, climb up a succession of rises and plateaus, gaining altitude and reaching a basin to the north of altitude 2482. We now climb decisively to the right up the steep rib between the rocks (be careful with poor snow cover) reaching the small Nair pond. The summit is now visible at the bottom between the snowy slopes and the rocks: it is reached first via a small valley, then directly on the eastern slopes, then with a slight traverse to the left that leads to the south-east ridge a few steps from the summit.
