Description

depending on the snow cover, follow more or less the route of the summer path as far as the Vittorio Emanuele refuge. from here turn left onto the moraine that leads to the end of the glacier. go up the moraine, and aim for the summit plateau beyond the donkey's back. arrive at the col, take off your skis and follow the aerial crest that leads to the Madonnina di Vetta. descend from the ascent route to the refuge. here, put your skins back on and head for the moraine between Ciarforon and Monciair and climb the remaining 200m. from here, depending on the conditions, you can descend the couloirs that lead into the etret valley. or as happened on 9 May 2009, with a very long traverse, go under the Monciair (beware that the slopes are avalanche-prone!) and continue until you come out onto a slope halfway down the Gran Etret descent, from here you rejoin the Etret glacier, which you descend down to the cross-country ski run and from there to your car. saturday 09/05/2009, at the start at 6 am from the car, rigelo absent up to an altitude of 2700 m, then after the refuge 10-20 cm of fresh snow, which increased on the way up. at the moment at the refuge, 3.5 m of pressed snow.
