Fenêtre de Ferret, from Saint-Rhémy
Introduction
A hike to be done as an alternative to the more popular Mont Fourchon, of which it follows almost the entire route only to break away in the last part. The slopes are very wide and sunny.
.Description
Follow the road and, after the bridge, take a steep road to the right. Continue until you pass under the mouth of the tunnel. Descend slightly and then enter a steep gully. (In case of poor or dangerous snow, go up the valley on the left until you reach the car road, which takes a long traverse upwards to reach the exit of the gully). Without reaching the wine cellar, continue along a little valley in the direction of the wall of a hairpin bend, pass to the right and, crossing a wide plateau, reach the Baus alp. Turn left into a small valley that leads to a wide basin. Leaving the route to Mont Fourchon on the left, climb to the right over a short but steep section to reach the last gentle little valley leading to the pass.
