Col Gragliasca, from Pillaz
Introduction
Little-known route that alternates between flat and steeper sections. In the section beyond Lake Vargno, the route is not very clear. Some of the steep sections above Lake Vargno require firm snow.
.Description
We continue along the road, which enters the valley with little gradient. After about half an hour, the road climbs a steeper section with a few bends and crosses the stream on a characteristic stone bridge. Continue along the road as far as Lake Vargno and then climb up some beautiful slopes with a few houses on the left. At the end, climb up between the larch trees to the left until you reach a hollow, with a steeper section to reach a col where there is an old hut. Cross the slope on the level and enter a steep little valley (watch out for possible snow falls in the last section). Continue to the right until you reach the wide slopes that, without an obligatory path, easily lead to the Gragliasca pass.
