Description

Excursion that we put on the calendar every year... This time we also take Marco with us, together with Ivan (11 years old) and Alice (6 years old). Departure at 9:45 a.m. from the Corippo crossroads, after a few hundred metres on the road we enter the woods along the big path of the Verzasca valley. Between continuous and gentle ascents and descents we pass several small settlements along the way, to arrive at Lavertezzo and its double hump bridge. Small break to refresh the children (they have very different eating rhythms from us adults). We set off again in the direction of Motta and Ganne, with a stop at the "Orgnana" hut. Lovely day, excellent temperature for walking, the singing of the river largely hiding the noise of the traffic on the other bank. At Ganne, we climb up to the road bridge to cross, the most dangerous point on the route, then turn left and climb the promontory that marks the upper part of Verzasca. We pass Brione, and at 13:10 we arrive at the second hut, the one called "Alnasca". Picnic break, then we set off again under the slatted sun (from here on it's almost all exposed), to pass further well-kept settlements, including Alnasca, and arrive at Lorentino at 14:40. Open farmhouse = coffee and ice cream. At 15:05 we set off again, Alice beginning to show signs of fatigue. No complaints, she has done about 13 km and 700 metres of climbing. At 15:45 we are at the pedestrian bridge in Frasco, Marco decides to finish here with the kids, and wait for the post bus that leaves at 16:32 from Sonogno. Rita and I pull out the turbo, and in a quarter of an hour we arrive in Sonogno. More coffee (I'm really vicious), then punctually the post leaves, we pick up Marco, Ivan and Alice in Frasco, and together with them we comment on the journey sitting comfortably. Beautiful valley, emerald waters: thank you Verzasca.
