Granero Refuge, from Villanova
Description
Crossing the village of Villanova (1223m), one immediately encounters the path that climbs towards the Conca del Prà. After a few bends, the path crosses the forest track that also starts at Villanova. The path continues on a false level until it passes the "Pis d'l'Urina" (1445 m), a stupendous waterfall about 60 metres high. Continuing on the track, near the colle della Maddalena pass, you will meet the path on the right that leads directly to the Conca del Prà and the W. Jervis refuge (1740 m). The forest track arrives at the same place by taking a longer loop. From here, one crosses the entire Conca until reaching the alpine pastures of Partia d'Aval first and Partia d'Amount later. From this point, two paths begin that lead to the hut. We follow the path that goes to the left, crossing the stream and reaching a plateau, Pian Sineive (2050 m) with the stele dedicated to an American plane that crashed during a search mission. From Pian Sineive, the path climbs steeply up a grassy ridge, at the end of which the Granero hut (2377 m) is reached. Immediately behind the refuge is Lago Lungo, from which the Pellice Torrent originates.
