Access

From Garessio (CN), go back up the road to the San Bernardo pass, where you leave your car in the ample spaces available.

Introduction

Simple walk through forests and wide, partly unpaved roads with very little traffic.

Description

From the San Bernardo pass (957 m), follow the road to the Quazzo (to the left of the ascent road by car), passing several wind turbines until an obvious fork, where you turn left. The central section of the road is unpaved and the route, with several ups and downs, runs mainly through woodland and is therefore often not very scenic. We pass a few isolated houses and it takes about 2h to reach the Quazzo pass (1090 m), where we take a lunch break.

Afterwards, we return back to the morning path, again alternating ascents and descents (another 2h).
In summary: discreet day, difference in altitude 400 m - Dif. T - 15.5 km for about 4h Tot. (2h out and 2h back) + all the breaks to see the various places you come across.  Average walking comfort: very good.
