.

Introduction

Easy hike on the eastern edge of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The pass is an excellent viewpoint over the Campiglia Valley up to the Cadrega Pass. During the entire itinerary, it is very common to spot marmots and chamois.

Description

0h00' After crossing the village of Piamprato, continue along the valley floor dirt track that runs alongside the Piamprato stream until just before the Grange Pràriond (1643m).

0h20' Cross the stream and climb up the wood in twists and turns until you reach the Grangia Vandilliana (1888m).

1h00' From the alp, heading south, the track starts off, which you will follow on the return journey, for the Grangia Orletto. The trail continues westwards, skirting the Rio della Borra, passing near a park ranger's hut, and reaches the ruins of the Grangia la Borra (2241m), a favourite spot for frequent chamois sightings. The path, still among beautiful grassy pastures, climbs, without ever being too steep, to the saddle of the Colle della Borra (2578m, 2h00').

The descent follows the same itinerary as far as the area of the park rangers' hut, where it bends right, southwards, reaching, with a moderate gradient, the Grangia Orletto (2026m). Downstream from the alpe, which is not clearly visible, a path branches off to the left, leading back to the Grangia Vandilliana. From here, retrace the ascent route 2h00'
