Col Sud de la Sabbla

Introduction

The Cresta Secca, better known as Crete Seche, divides the coma of the same name from that of Vertsan.
It starts at Mont de Crete seche and continues rocky northwards to Mont Berlon.
Interrupted by three passes, the southern col de la sabbla (the best known), the northern col de la sabbla and between them an unnamed, equally easy one.

Description

From Ruz, follow trail no. 2 (from the Crete seche refuge) to the Berrier alp. When the path turns left, continue straight on towards the alp and you will come across path no. 4. After the alp, turn left, cross the Vertsan stream over a bridge and continue in a N direction on a slope devastated by the remains of an inter-pasture road. Follow traces of a path with a few cairns, keeping to the left or the cross-country road itself. You leave a ruin on the left to come out on the ruins of the Chardonney alp (2520 m, 2.30 hours). One crosses the Vertsan stream (sometimes one has to look for the passage). You skirt a grassy mound on the right, beyond which you pass a wall of boulders to arrive in a beautiful meadow where the ascent of the gully begins. The gully is 340 metres high. You attack it on the right, grassy, and then pass to the left, climbing the steep scree as best you can. Where it is steeper, one helps oneself with the boulders bordering the gully. The route is not obligatory, at the top you turn right to come out at the saddle, right in front of the spectacle of the Aroletta and the Morion with the Crevaye becca hole.
