Albert Deffeyes (Aosta, 25 January 1913 - Aosta, 22 March 1953) was a partisan, politician and supporter of the autonomy of the Valle d'Aosta. As a young man in 1927, he joined the Aosta Valley anti-fascist society La Jeune Vallée d'Aoste, a movement founded by Émile Chanoux and Joseph Trèves. During the Second World War, he was interned in Switzerland from 1943 to 1945.
After the war, Deffeyes was one of the founders of the political party Union ValdĂ´taine in September 1945, and became one of the main ideologues as well as the editor of its magazine. In 1949, he was elected regional councillor and later appointed councillor for tourism, antiquities and fine arts for Valle d'Aosta. Deffeyes was also a passionate mountaineer and president of the Aosta Valley section of the Italian Alpine Club. He died prematurely in 1953 of a brain haemorrhage.
A square and a bust have been dedicated in his honour in Aosta, and a refuge in the La Thuile valley bears his name.
